Affiliate links
Some links on Barn to Track, mostly in the Tack Room and in our lessons, are affiliate links. If you buy something through one of them, we may earn a small commission. It doesn't change the price you pay.
Every affiliate link is labeled "affiliate link" right next to it. We only recommend products Derek Sturniolo actually uses, and a commission never decides what makes the list. If something stops earning its place in his barn, it comes off the page.
Sponsorships and partners
If a brand ever pays us, sends us free product, or sponsors a lesson or video, we'll say so clearly in that piece of content.
Educational content, not veterinary advice
Barn to Track teaches horsemanship: how an experienced horseman watches, handles, rides and records a horse. Nothing on this site, in our modules, worksheets, videos or emails is veterinary, medical or nutritional advice, and none of it replaces your veterinarian, farrier, nutritionist or trainer.
Our tools help you notice change. They don't diagnose anything. If your horse seems unwell, injured or off, call your veterinarian. In an emergency, call right away.
Working with horses carries risk
Horses are large, strong animals and riding and handling them is risky. Use your own judgment, follow safe handling practices, and get help from a qualified professional when you need it. You're responsible for how you use what you learn here.
